Pastor Barbara Mitchell

Pastor Barbara Mitchell became the head pastor in 2007 making her the first woman pastor in Nebraska in the Church of God in Christ organization. Her faith, constant prayer, and obedient spirit to the Lord's direction are how Tabernacle of Faith has been opened since 1976. She has faced many oppositions by being a woman pastor but she has always lived by the Bible Scripture 1 Corinthians 15:58 therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

In a world where most people feel women are not supposed to be Pastors, or in a leadership position she has excelled in this area and it is because those that the Lord calls He also qualifies.

We the members of Tabernacle of Faith  love our Pastor and feel that she is well deserving of recognition because where most would have given up and closed the church doors when the founder died she continued on in faith carrying the church all because of her love for God's people continuing the vision and the foundation of what the church was built upon "faith" our church motto has been and continues to be is "we've come this far by faith".
