Our Founder
Tabernacle of Faith was founded by the late John E Mitchell Sr. and his wife Co-Founder Barbara Mitchell.
The doors of Tabernacle of Faith were opened in 1976. At that time there were only 6 members Pastor John and Barbara Mitchell, their 3 children and Pastor John Mitchell's sister, Eva Murphy who to this very day is our church mother.
Pastor John Mitchell was given a vision from the Lord to restore what once was a grocery store originally opened in 1913 name Roduziner Grocery. The building continued in the grocery chain business under different owners until it closed its doors permanently in 1989 or so one would have thought. Most people that seen the building located at 2404 Fort Street laughed at the couple and doubted that something that looked so bad could be bought to life.
Tabernacle of Faith opened its doors as a church in 1991.
